Richard Harris (@rrichardh) talk at #UCDavis Oct ’17: Common errors that bedevil medical research

Made a Storify:

Storify of Day 1 of "An open digital global south meeting" at #UCDavis

I made a Storify of Tweets and some pictures from the "An open digital Global South" meeting that I am a co-organizer of. This was organized by my "ICIS project and was, to be honest, really put together by other people on the project (I helped, but definitely was not one of the major organizers). Much of the credit should go to Michael Wolfe and Alexandra Lippman. See more in the Storify below.

These are actual living microbiologists #actuallivingscientist

Crossposting this - which I already posted at microBEnet I have been tracking #actuallivingscientist postings on Twitter compiled those by people doing microbiology. Actual living microbiologists.

Science Caturday: Kitty Biome, DIY Guide

Dr. Jennifer Gardy provided a step-by-step guide to making science out of cat poop on Twitter, which was subsequently catalogued by our own Michele Banks, guru of Science Cats and Science Scarves (yes, this is a subtle reference to Dr. Gardy wearing an Artologica scarf in the photo series – now rendered unsubtler).

#SciWars 2015

We liked #SciWars so much in 2014 that we did it again in 2015. This time, we actually did it on May 4* (aka, May the Fourth Be With You). Check out the Storify of the tweeted goodness/nerdiness.

Storify roundup of links & pics about evolution, microbes, open science, etc

So I just don't have time to do a compilation of links with extra detail about them like some people do regarding interesting information and stories they have seen over the last week or so. Instead I am trying to compile such information via Twitter posts of mine and then converting the more relevnt ones into a Storify. So here is one such storification for the last month or so.

Tweets from Nancy Moran’s talk at #UCDavis on "Two sides of symbiosis" storified

I went to a talk yesterday by Nancy Moran at UC Davis.  Nancy is one of my science heroes.  I have worked on a few projects with her and am just a big fan of her body of work on symbioses.  I have written about her work her on this blog many times before including
Anyway - I live tweeted her talk and then tried to "Storify" those tweets but Storify was not working well.  Thankfully  Surya Saha made a storify which I then edited (with his permission).
